I am very ordinary,oh dear.

Good Evening, hasn't it been a lovely day?I have spent most of the day gardening apart from a brief pause to pop to the garden centre,I got a lavatera barnsley,a verbena bonariensis,a gypsophila and a little fushia called Alice Hoffman. Then hubby and I spent the afternoon planting them after we'd moved a mock orange that had grown too big for the space! My back aches now so am in the conservatory resting and reading the custards blog and flicking through my favourite homes mags, country living, mollie makes etc.I know this blog is very ordinary but I so wish someone would leave a comment(sigh!)Enjoy the rest of Sunday. A little light relief in the rain

Good evening all, Today I went to heaven, the Button Tin at Rotherham,to see the lovely Gemma and to collect the gorgeous things for my daughters wedding, excellent service from Gemma, she's an angel. Also had tea and cake at a lovely vintage cafe sadly the service didn't match the beautiful surroundings, why do some people not make the effort when it's clearly their own businness? Then next door, to the place that helps people in education, the visual merchandising youngsters had done a mad hatters teaparty  window with all the china etc borrowed from local businness's,a gorgeous duck egg blue and Cath Kidston bird print lamp was for sale!so with a bit of arm twisting for hubby he bought it for me! with not a thought from me as to how it was going to fit in our little car!!! Anyhow it did and now it's in the kitchen matching the dresser and chair that I painted!!So a lovely day despite the pouring rain!BBFN Pam.

Thank heavens for the life I have!

I have a very ordinary life but the little things make me happy, the sunshine on my back whilst I was browsing around the flea market the feel of hot water on my back whilst in the shower after a swim at the gym(who'd have thought that I would be lucky enough to earn enough to join a gym!!!)and the greatest gift of sight so that I can see the simply gorgeous things on the custards blog, and all the beautiful flowers in my garden, some I grew from seed!! Yes life can be good.May the sun shine on all of you and I wish you peace and happiness.TTFN.

minimalists invade my brain!!

A very good evening to all,I've just returned from the canary islands after a lovely 2 week break, sun, sun, sun!!!! But whilst I was relaxing on a sun lounger strange thoughts entered my head about making a life without so much clutter, collections etc!! The apartment was so minimal and tidy and I managed quite well without antiquing!! I  was bitten quite alot by mosquitos and I just wondered if they had injected me with minimalist ideas, the thought of a lovely tidy space with the ablity to see things individually seemed quite appealing!!! Anyway after I went into WH Smith and purchased Mollie Makes, Country Living, Period Living and Pretty Nostalgic, I did begin to feel a little more like myself. Then I read the Custards blog and my heart started beating at it's usual 100 miles and hour so on the whole I do believe I'm beginning to feel a little better!! I still want to have my little shop though, so I could continue to have things for a while and then move them along to some other fanatic, sorry collector!! Enjoy the sun between the showers TTFN Pam. PS my sunflowers and marigolds that I grew from seed are FAB!!

EVERY CLOUD HAS A WARM LINING

Good evening everyone,Have you all had a lovely jubilee? It rained and rained on Sunday when I went to my sisters delightful cottage but it meant that we had lunch indoors and the log burning stove was lit!!! BLISS!!!We all had such a wonderful time and it was a great thrill to show my daughter around the cottage, my sister has immaculate taste, not a bit of tat to be seen!!!The views from all the windows are uninterrupted countryside, quite delightful and all the early summer flowers were just lovely, despite the rain. She has a little church around the corner that was so warm as the verger had put the heaters on,it was the loveliest atmosphere.Yesterday I went to the old walled garden nursery and the sun was shining!! we had tea and cake in amongst the plants,I purchased a Quaking grass,a climbing fushia and some gorgeous yellow buttercup like flowers, so I had a lovely time last evening popping them into the borders!!Today it was a trip to Elvaston castle for lunch and a wander round the GORGEOUS walled garden and I drooled over the double herbaceous border!!!DELIGHTFUL.I can enjoy myself even when teasets are not involved!!My spending urge was quenched with the purchase,on ,the way home from a garden centre I had not been to before ,I purchased, lavender coloured stock, scented dianthus called [a quick pause whilst I nip outside to check the name]Iced Gem[if I remember I will take a cutting to Gemma at the Button Tin]and some daisy flowers.I have had a lovely jubilee break and God Save The Queen [and a speedy recovery for Prince Philip]TTFN.
