FLOWERS AND JAM!

Thankyou Mary Berry,I have just made Strawberry jam using Marys method and by crikey it worked!! I cannot believe that I have,with my own fair hands just made 4 and a quarter jars of jam.I was Amazed that it was so straightforward!!I am really rather pleased with myself!! Also from the flea market a GORGEOUS flower picture painted by Kathleen R Hantin and costing 6 guineas!!And it was framed in Curzon Street in my home town of Derby!So it was certainly made for me!!Also to finish off I ordered Lavender from the world supermarket on Tuesday and it arrived today so I made some Lavender scones,which I am going to taste after I have finished here!!I am doing a vintage tea party for mum on Sunday so guess what will be on the menu,oh yes jam!!I am H.A.P.P.Y!!!!!

WANDERNING AND DISCOVERY!

Good Evening,what a BEAUTIFUL day it's been here !I had my hair cut then hubby took me to LA BOHEME and I set up a little mothers day area,some pretty "Mother" china and embroidered tablecloths and a lovely pale blue tea trolly,it looked rather inviting! Then I met my middle daughter Alice and we had a meander round the flea market and charity shops.I got some pretty things as you can see in the photo!Some lovely bits of china and a floral cushion and a very pretty tray cloth. I got a few other things but you can see in the photo so I won't bore you with a" Generation Game,conveyor belt!!)AND we found a new vintage tearoom serving tea coffee and cake!! I'm ashamed to say I broke Lent (only because they ONLY served cake!!) and had a delicious slice of ale and fruit cake!!Tea was served from vintage china,SO elegant.There was an amazing amount of gorgeous vintagealia!!AND a wood burning stove with comfy sofas for those colder days! I tell you ladies I was in my heaven,it's open on Sundays so I may have to visit again,I'll ask if I can take some pictures next time.It's right next to Chesterfield bus station so if you fancy a trip out on a Thursday I can highly recommend it.I also treated myself to a pre birthday gift of a GORGEOUS butterfly cushion and flowers and birds duvet set from BHS,I have a bit of a thing for pretty duvet covers and it was half price too which was better still!! I'll go now as I can hear someone  yawning in the background I do go on a bit!!!!! It's beacause I don't get out much!!! Ttfn P.S Have you read the magazine Daphne's Diary? isn't it divine? P.P.S A couple of pictures of my makes,I'm SO proud of my little crotchet coaster and I embroidered a little hoop for Mothers Day. I AM going now!!

PANSIES AND PRETTINESS!

Good evening my dears,have you had a good day? I wandered around my flea market, lots of lovely things to see and some pretty stalls. I got a bobbin of white cotton for free!!A little piece of embroidery with pansies on for one pound that reminded me of Mrs Custard  and the other things that you can see in the photo. I do sooo love that market,it's my day off next Thursday so I will be able to dawdle around instead of a quick lunchtime rush. Oh I almost forgot my big purchase a lovely old stained glass window frame for £5!!!!!!!!!!! I had the thought of Mrs Custards cold frame in my mind as I saw it and expected it to be about £15 to £20 so I snapped it up.I think I will wash it and use it as a piece of art on my wall!!

FREE POTTY AND CROTCHET!!

Good Morning,Yesterday I went to pay my rent at Olympia for LA BOHEME and saw a gorgeous roses chamber pot all dirty and filled with rain water,(at least I hoped it was only rain water!!)I went in to ask how much it was and I was told I could have it for FREE!! As you must know I adore anything with roses on so was thrilled to bits!! Also I am still trying to perfect the crotchet so here is another little square for you to drool over(just kidding!!)Just off to do a wedding fair with my eldest daughter,but secretly wishing I could spend the day crafting and sorting out the 101 jobs I have to do!!But I shall enjoy spending time with my daughter and it's a sit down job so a bit of a rest for my poor old bones!!Have a lovely weekend yourselves TTFN......................
